There has been no time for writing lately. The schedule at our house has gone nonstop from 7:30 am until at least 9 at night for the past two weeks. But there is so much to tell. So here is a quick update:
Punk has started rehearsal for Bye Bye Birdie - he loves it.
I just finished my first spring recital for school.
Kooka is so busy helping to plan her spy birthday party - and yes it is going to be AWESOME!
We are all busy thinking about our summer road trip.
Punk got to be on the news crew at school and help with announcements.
The new hammock on our front porch is always full.
In less than two weeks - we will all be free from school - but I will be missing some of my kids a lot

great day
It's pretty hard to have a bad day when your kids let you sleep in as late as you want.
When I woke up - the house wasn't even destroyed. On the contrary, my room was decorated with little love notes and hand-drawn pictures. Punk gave me a kiss and said, "Stay right here!"
He and Kooka served me breakfast in bed - Captain Crunch, S'more Pop Tarts, and mini cream puffs - separately, those are my favorites, together a hypoglycemic reaction that took hours to shake. I had to pry my tongue from the roof of my mouth, to request a small glass of milk.
But, later we packed turkey sandwiches on french bread and headed to the park for a picnic. I was still coasting on a sugar high, but the crash hit hard, so after a snuggle and story I fell back asleep. The kids played quietly until I woke up, then we met Aaron for dinner and more park time. It was a great day.

happy
I do not know what it is with me and these slightly quirky Icelandic-sounding pop singers - Lenka, Yael Naim, and now these guys. But there is something so catchy, and well . . . happy about listening to their bubble-gum style.

summer show
Punk got a role in the summer production of Bye Bye Birdie. He gets to sing, dance, and be sarcastic (which we all know - is one of his greatest gifts). He is going to be the youngest cast member - which is fine by him, because it means he will get to hang out with his "cool teenage friends" - Schroeder, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Martha, Snoopy, Mr. Lockwood, and Zazu. Not to mention Dr, Burton! The added bonus is that Kooka will get to spend some time with her second grade teacher for next year - she's playing Punk's mom!
