smart kids
Who has the smartest kids in the WORLD? That would be me. Both Punk and Kooka got 100% on their unit math tests today! They are celebrating by taking turns sleeping in my bed.

busy
Sorry we haven't posted lately. Among other things, we have been planning birthday parties. Not sure exactly how we will do it yet - but here is what they are wishing for:
This is me Kooka. For my birthday, I am having a spy party - we are having disguises and actual magnifying glasses. We are going to have a cake that has a magnifying glass on it. I'm really excited for it.
This is me Punk. My birthday is going to be a Night at the Museum party. We are going to go watch Night at the museum, and hopefully have a party there, and I want cupcakes that have different statues like at the Smithsonian museum. It will rock!

and . . .
Ummm - now that I am into British reality TV - I am sorta in LOVE with this family. . .
Good Evans
I can just see me and Punk and Kooka doing that. But I would fight Punk for the Michael Jackson part.

judging
If you have ever been guilty of judging somebody before you even give them a chance - you need to watch this - NOW.
Susan Boyle
Seriously - NOW! I've watched it 5 times - it still makes me cry.

first communion
I always thought it would be a bigger deal - mine was - god knows my brother's was - he passed out at the altar (it was not the first time he went unconscious in church - and would not be the last). Anyway, for some reason, I figured this would be more eventful - maybe at least I would have KNOWN about it.
We went to church today, and Punk just decided to take communion. I had no clue until I turned around and he was chewing and making a sour face. He didn't think much of it, until I explained that most Christians made a pretty big deal about first communions, and even threw parties.
"You mean I could have gotten PRESENTS for that? Why didn't anybody tell me?"
"Well maybe next time you wanna give me a heads up before you do a shot of alcohol."
"I'll do that."

dying happy
Now it can happen.
Seriously.
Since I was 16 years old, I have always wanted to meet this guy. Actually, I have always wanted to BE this guy. He choreographed all of the videos and I obsessed over. He spent his days with Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, and and Usher.
I finally got my chance. I invited Barry Lather to do a workshop for my students at school, and thankfully he was up for it. I spent the day just watching the dude work - it was amazing! The kids loved it - and you know the class is a hit when 8th grade hockey boys give up their lunch period just to come back for more dance class. Look how happy they are:
