kooka's plan

Kooka has accepted the summer challenge as well. She wants me to let you all know, that the one thing a little five year old girl can do to change the world, is to practice riding her bike, so our family can bike places instead of drive, and that will save gas, which will help the earth, which will save the animals. That is Kooka's plan. She wants to know if any of you have plans . . .

Way to go, Kooka....you can change the world! Your parents should go to www.mnenergychallenge.org and look at ways your family can save energy and make a pledge to help save our environment. Here are a couple of the things that I've done: change our lightbulbs to ones that don't use as much energy, I've quit driving to the cities once a week for errands. I shop here in town, even if it costs a little more money. My kids ride their bikes when they can and when it's safe instead of me driving them in the car. We use ceiling fans as much as we can to avoid the air conditioning.

Hopefully people in my generation will make some changes to protect the environment that you and Punk will live in someday with your children!

Thanks for doing what you do!

Perhaps Kooka could ferry myself or the other uncles around in some sort of rickshaw? I know I'd love to save on gas money and she does have that bike....

Of course I have heard some "interesting" stories about her driving skillz (Perhaps the only weak link in the chain of homeschooling...)
